Tennessee Tech students tour Shelbyville Plant
Apr 4, 2016
TTU students took a trip to Shelbyville for a Cooper Steel presentation and plant tour last week. Chris Legnon reached out to Matthew Yarnold Assistant Professor at Tech. to arrange the field trip and visit on Friday April 1st. We currently recruit from TTU and other colleges of note. The Alumni trail is long and distinguished from Tech, were Cooper Steel has enjoyed much success in hiring young engineers fresh out of college. The group had many questions and were very impressed with the facility and the tour, conducted by Rodney Hardin and Duff Zimmerman. By introducing the students to what the steel industry has to offer, helps in our recruiting process down the road and gives the student a hands on look at what the heck they are studying.
