Our Fitters fabricate multi-story structural steel buildings and are committed to precision on each project. We offer state-of-the-art equipment, air conditioning and the latest technology that separates us from the rest, making our facility one of the nicest fab shops in the country! PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret blueprints to fabricate structural steel
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
- Set up components for welding equipment in accordance to specifications (e.g. cut material with oxy-fuel torch to match measurements)
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
- Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Proven experience as welder
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (flux-core, MIG weld)
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (grinder, squares, tape measure, hand tools)
